MediaLooks Playout SDK is designed for multimedia developers to instantly design a professional playout application precisely tuned to their requirements. The key features are seamless switching between files, support for vaious file types and video parameters, the ability to overlay text & graphis over the video.

The SDK allows to mix PAL and NTSC files in one playlist (with automatic frame rate and resolution conversion).

The played out media can be output to a board (such as DeckLink), to a DV device or streamed to Windows Media Services. This can be done either selectively or simultaneously.

Samples for several development environments are provided. No DirectShow expertise is required to use the component.

Components

The Playout SDK includes the following components:

• Playout Object (includes Advanced File Source) - playlist management and file playback.
• DeckLink Sink - sends data to a DeckLink board.
• DV Sink - sends data to a DV device.
• WMV Sink - streams to Windows Media Services or captures to a .WMV file.

DirectShow Plugins

• Text & Graphics Overlay - overlays text and graphics.

Optional Components

• DV/DVCPRO HD Codec SDK - adds support for DV/DVCPRO HD decoding and parsing of the .MXF container.
• QuickTime DirectShow Source Filter - adds support for .MOV files.
• Telestrator - allows to draw over the video.
